The Utah Jazz are navigating a tricky end to their 2025-26 season, with several key players sidelined. Walker Kessler, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Jusuf Nurkić are already out for the remainder, and questions loom about Lauri Markkanen and Keyonte George's return.
Starting with Markkanen, the Jazz announced a hip impingement would keep him out for at least two weeks. However, it's been over three weeks, and the team now says he'll be re-evaluated by April 2.
With just five games left after that, including a road trip, it's unlikely Markkanen will hit the court without a gradual reconditioning process. The smart money says we won't see him play again this season.
Keyonte George's situation is more uncertain. After a March 11 hamstring strain against the Knicks, he was set for a two-week evaluation, which lands on March 26.
If George miraculously returns before then, he could still vie for Most Improved Player votes. But if clearance doesn't come, the Jazz might prioritize caution over risk, especially with only a handful of games left.
Even if he does return, expect limited action.
The Jazz are clearly focusing on a fully healthy roster for the 2026-27 season, aiming to enter the offseason with all players in top condition.
Looking ahead, the Jazz are setting their sights on the future, hoping for a strong comeback next season.
