USC's 2026 recruiting class shines with Sierra Canyon's Madden Riordan, a defensive powerhouse poised to elevate the Trojans' roster.

USC's latest recruiting class is turning heads, especially with their focus on local talent. The Trojans have tapped into Southern California's rich high school football scene, with Sierra Canyon in Chatsworth emerging as a key contributor. Among the recruits, three players from this powerhouse program have committed to USC, including two standout defenders.

One of these defenders is Madden Riordan, a name that fans should get familiar with. Standing at 5-foot-11 and weighing 150 pounds, Riordan has been a cornerstone for Sierra Canyon over the past four years. His journey with the Trailblazers began in 2022 as a freshman, where he made an immediate impact with 55 tackles, an interception, and four pass breakups.

As Riordan progressed to his sophomore year in 2023, his stats only got more impressive. He racked up 29 tackles and showcased his playmaking ability with four interceptions, returning them for 40 yards. His defensive prowess earned him a spot on the Cal-Hi Sports All-State First Team and the All-Mission League First Team.

By his junior year in 2024, Riordan had embraced his role as a leader, serving as team captain. He recorded 43 tackles, including two for loss, and was a ball hawk with 10 interceptions, returning one for a touchdown.

Offensively, he added eight receptions for 68 yards. His accolades that year were numerous, including MaxPreps Junior First Team All-American and High School on SI All-America First Team honors, among others.

Riordan's senior year in 2025 capped off a stellar high school career. He tallied 32 tackles, three for loss, and four interceptions, while also contributing offensively with a 21-yard touchdown run and six catches for 62 yards. His consistent excellence earned him a second consecutive All-Mission League MVP award.

With such a track record, Riordan is poised to make a significant impact at USC. His defensive skills and leadership qualities make him a valuable addition to the Trojans, and fans should be excited to see what he brings to the field.
