The USC track and field team is ready to make waves at the Big Ten Indoor Track and Field Championships in Indianapolis this Thursday. After a strong conference debut last year, the Trojans are looking to build on their momentum.

USC's Dominance in the Big Ten

The Trojans have been a force to reckon with this season, holding the top times in six different events across the conference. The Women of Troy, in particular, have dominated the 60m, securing the top five times in the Big Ten.

Trojans Set to Compete

A robust squad of 31 Trojans will represent USC at this year's championship. The men's team includes standout athletes like Edward Nketia, JC Stevenson, and Jack Stadlman. The women's roster features talents such as Asjah Atkinson, Dajaz DeFrand, and Oluwatosin Awoleye.

Recent Performances

At the Don Kirby Elite Invite, USC athletes shone brightly. Cordial Vann tied a long-standing freshman record in the men's 60 meters, while Dajaz DeFrand set a new season best in the women's 60 meters. Jack Stadlman also made headlines by breaking the indoor 400m freshman record with a time of 45.51.

The Husky Classic saw distance runner Oluwatosin Awoleye achieve a personal-best of 2:06.44 in the 800 meters, marking the seventh-fastest time in USC history.

Recap of 2025 Championships

In 2025, the Trojans delivered impressive performances, with the men's team finishing second and the women third overall. Dajaz DeFrand set a championship record in the 60-meter dash, and the women's 4x400-meter relay team ended the meet with another record-breaking performance.

For the men, JC Stevenson claimed the Big Ten title in the 60-meter dash, with Edward Nketia finishing fifth. Garrett Kaalund also made his mark with a runner-up finish in the 200m.
