USC’s men and women are back at Uytengsu Aquatics Center this week for a high-profile two-day quad meet, with the No. 20 men and No. 18 Women of Troy hosting Arizona, Arizona State and UCLA on Friday, Nov. 6 and Saturday, Nov. 7.

It’s a loaded field on both sides. The men’s meet brings together No.

25 Arizona, while the women’s competition features No. 16 Arizona State, No.

18 USC, No. 24 Arizona and UCLA.

The Trojans will get started Friday at 12 p.m. PT, then come back under the lights for a 5 p.m. session that will be the first nighttime meet at Uytengsu Aquatics Center in more than 10 years. The final session is set for Saturday at 11 a.m., with diving beginning at 12 p.m. on both days.

USC comes into the weekend riding momentum from its most recent meet against Indiana and Kentucky, where the Trojans picked up four event wins and 16 top-three finishes. The Women of Troy beat Kentucky 159.5-140.5, with Minna Abraham, Sage Miller and Brigitta Vass each taking individual victories. On the men’s side, Michal Chmielewski delivered USC’s lone win with a victory in the 100y fly.

Through the first month of the season, USC has already produced seven individual NCAA-standard times from five Trojans. Abraham has hit the mark in three events, with season bests of 1:43.72 in the 200y free, 16:26.30 in the 1650y free and 1:57.84 in the 200y IM. Miller has posted a qualifying time of 1:57.06 in the 200y fly, and Vass has done it in the 200y breast with a 2:10.59.

For the men, Chmielewski owns an NCAA-standard time of 1:41.79 in the 200y fly, and freshman Junhao Chan has reached the standard in the 200y breast at 1:53.68.

USC opened the season with a sweep of TCU at the USC Invitational, rolling to a 228-86 win on the women’s side and a 239-76 victory for the men. The Trojans won nine events in the opening session alone, with Abraham, Chmielewski, Krzysztof Chmielewski, Filip Mujan, Lindsay Barnes, Ludovica Di Maria and Oliver Sogaard-Andersen all getting in on the action.

This meet is USC’s last stop before the Trojans move into midseason invitational competition in the coming weeks.

Friday’s first session will include the 100y fly, 200y back, 200y breast, 50y free, 400y IM, 50y breast and 400y free relay. USC's Playoff Push Still Hinges On One Problem They Haven't Solved

USCs win over then-No. 2 Ohio State gave the Trojans the kind of resume boost that can change the conversation in a hurry, and the initial College Football Playoff rankings reflected that with a No. 20 debut. But the path from here is still steep, and the next stretch is the kind that will tell the rest of the sport whether this team is a real contender or just a dangerous one with a signature win on the ledger.

Road trips to No. 4 Indiana and No. 6 UCLA now loom as the defining tests of the season, because those games will go a long way toward deciding whether USC stays in the playoff mix. They also carry broader implications for Lincoln Riley, whose teams have been uneven away from home, with a 7-11 record in true road games over the past three seasons. [Read more 🡒]

Jayden Maiava Just Entered A New USC Quarterback Conversation

Jayden Maiavas name is suddenly showing up in a different kind of USC quarterback conversation, one that reaches beyond the Coliseum and into next springs NFL Draft chatter. CBS Sports NFL Draft analyst Ryan Wilson recently slotted the Trojans quarterback as a potential late first-round pick, with Minnesota as the landing spot, a nod to how Maiava has started to draw attention well beyond his college production.

The projection is still just that, a projection, but it adds another layer to a season in which Maiavas performance against Ohio State has already become part of the evaluation. Wilsons mock also ties into a familiar NFL storyline for USC fans, with the Vikings quarterback picture and the memory of Sam Darnold both part of the backdrop, even as the real question is how far Maiava can keep pushing his draft stock from here. Caleb Williams Is Giving USC Fans A New NFL Bragging Right

Caleb Williams put together another eye-catching showing in Week 8, and for USC fans, it was the kind of pro performance that keeps the old quarterback pipeline feeling very much alive. The former Trojans star led the way among ex-USC players that week with a productive outing against Seattle, piling up the passing yards and touchdowns that made him the clear headliner in a slate full of mixed results for the programs alumni.

Around him, the rest of the former Trojans delivered a range of contributions, with some making noticeable impacts and others leaving more to be desired. Still, Williams was the name that stood out most, and his latest performance only adds to the growing sense that USC has another NFL bragging right to point to as the season moves forward.
