USC Pro Day: A Showcase of NFL Draft Hopefuls

The USC Trojans hosted their Pro Day in Los Angeles, offering a stage for 17 promising NFL Draft prospects to exhibit their skills and measurements. With scouts from all 32 NFL teams in attendance, it was a crucial opportunity for these athletes to make a lasting impression ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh.

Among the standout performers were wide receiver Jay Fair and linebacker Eric Gentry. Fair's speed was on full display, clocking a 4.43 in the 40-yard dash, while Gentry's impressive 6'6" frame and agility were highlighted by a 6.76 in the 3-cone drill. These numbers underscore their potential to transition seamlessly to the professional level.

Safety Bishop Fitzgerald and cornerback DJ Harvey also turned heads. Fitzgerald's quickness was evident with a 4.20 shuttle time, and Harvey showcased his explosiveness with a 35 1/2" vertical. Both players demonstrated the athleticism and skill that could make them valuable assets in any secondary.

The Pro Day was not just about individual performances. It was a testament to the depth of talent at USC, with players like wide receivers Ja'Kobi Lane and Makai Lemon also making their mark. Lane, with his 6'4" stature, offers a tantalizing target, while Lemon's speed promises to stretch defenses.

Defensive end Anthony Lucas and tight end Lake McRee added to the Trojans' defensive and offensive allure. Lucas, with his formidable presence at 260 pounds, and McRee, who ran a 4.73 in the 40, both showed why they are prospects to watch.

Notably, seven of these athletes had already made an impression at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, further cementing their status as top contenders in this year's draft class.

Former Trojan linebacker Mason Cobb also participated, showcasing his strength with 25 reps on the bench press, a reminder of his enduring capabilities.

As the draft approaches, these Trojans have positioned themselves as strong contenders, each bringing unique skills and potential to the table. With their performances at Pro Day, they've given NFL teams plenty to ponder and fans much to anticipate.
