The Trojans are on a recruiting roll, and it looks like they're not slowing down anytime soon. Even though the Southern California heatwave has passed, USC's recruiting momentum is blazing hot as we head into summer.
This weekend was a big one for USC, starting with Friday’s commitment from four-star wide receiver Roye Oliver III out of Chandler, Arizona. Oliver is a junior at Hamilton High and brings a dynamic presence to the Trojans' future offensive plans.
On Saturday, the Trojans hosted a scrimmage that featured a visit from Drew Fielder, a four-star offensive tackle from Anaheim’s Servite High. Fielder had just informed the coaching staff that he’s flipping his commitment from Oregon to USC, adding significant strength to their offensive line prospects.
Sunday kept the momentum going with the commitment of Josiah Poyer, a three-star linebacker from St. John Bosco in Bellflower, California. This came on the heels of Wednesday’s announcement that Danny Lang, a four-star cornerback from Mater Dei in Santa Ana, is also joining the Trojans.
Last year, USC pulled together a 35-man recruiting class that topped the national rankings, and it’s set to make waves this fall. Remarkably, most of that class was locked in before June.
This year, USC is on track to wrap up their 2027 class even earlier, aiming to have it complete before Memorial Day. They’re projected to secure between 17 and 20 commitments, setting the stage for another impactful group of recruits.
