USC Beach Volleyball Dominates Top Teams in Thrilling Los Angeles Showdown

USC Beach Volleyball dominates with impressive victories over top-ranked Cal Poly and Concordia Irvine, sealing a perfect weekend and enhancing their formidable season record.

In a weekend that showcased their dominance, No. 4 USC Beach Volleyball made a statement at the Battle for Los Angeles.

The Women of Troy took down No. 3 Cal Poly with a 4-1 victory and swept Concordia Irvine 5-0, pushing their season record to an impressive 8-2.

USC’s historical edge remains strong, boasting a 12-0 all-time record against Cal Poly and 7-0 against Concordia Irvine.

Leading the charge in the No. 1 spot were Zoey Henson and Sarah Wood. While they faced a tough battle against Cal Poly's Ella Connor and Erin Inskeep, falling 30-28 and 21-11, they bounced back with authority against Concordia Irvine. Henson and Wood found their groove, defeating Olivia Medina and Aliyah Moore 21-9 and 21-15, bringing their season record to a stellar 9-1.

Ashley Pater and Kennedy Coakley, holding down the No. 2 position, showcased resilience and skill. They secured a hard-fought win over Cal Poly’s duo of Izzy Martinez and Logan Walter, clinching the match with a thrilling 34-32 second set.

Against Concordia Irvine, they maintained their momentum, winning 22-20 and 21-10. Their partnership shines with a 6-4 season record and 34-8 overall.

In the third spot, Quincy Stephens and Alana Embry continued their winning ways against Cal Poly, defeating Julia Westby and Ashleigh Adams with scores of 21-19 and 21-17. Meanwhile, Macy Bolyard and Madison Goellner, teaming up for the first time this season, delivered a solid performance against Concordia Irvine, winning 21-15 in both sets.

Kaileigh Truslow and Kerry Keefe took the court as the fourth pair against Cal Poly, overcoming a close contest to win 21-18 and 21-17. Keefe then teamed up with Bella Satterwhite against Concordia Irvine, and the new pairing proved effective, securing a 21-15, 21-15 victory.

In the fifth flight, Kyra Zaengle and Calinda Kok remained undefeated, dispatching their opponents with ease. They took down Cal Poly with scores of 21-17 and 21-12, followed by a commanding win over Concordia Irvine, 21-7 and 21-14, to maintain their perfect 9-0 season record.
