Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid made his feelings about USC crystal clear on the Oct. 24 edition of ESPN College GameDay.
The former Utah standout served as the celebrity guest picker on the Utah campus, where the show centered on USC’s trip to face unranked Wisconsin. And when it came time to weigh in on the Trojans, Kincaid didn’t just take the Badgers - he took a shot first.
"There are two schools I really dislike, and USC is one of those schools," Kincaid said, drawing a loud reaction from the crowd.
He doubled down moments later by bringing up a familiar Utah-USC memory.
"I believe a few years ago, we had a similar blackout game in which we beat them 43-42 in going for two. And I don't think they've recovered since that moment. I am taking the Badgers here."
Kincaid was one of two guests to pick Wisconsin, joining Pat McAfee. But the loudest reaction on set belonged to Kincaid, who had the advantage of having lived through the damage Utah once did to USC.
He was talking about the 2022 meeting between the former Pac-12 rivals, a game that helped derail a USC season that had been rolling under then-first-year coach Lincoln Riley. Kincaid was a major piece of that 43-42 thriller at Rice Eccles-Stadium, catching 16 passes for 234 yards and a touchdown as Utah stunned the Trojans in a game that ended with the crowd storming the field.
That loss didn’t just dent USC’s playoff hopes. It set up another meeting between the teams in December, this time with the Pac-12 title at stake. Utah handled USC again, rolling to a 47-24 win in Las Vegas to claim the conference championship.
Kincaid’s role in that one was quieter, as he finished with four catches for 40 yards. Still, by the end of his Utah career, he had beaten USC twice. He also was on the winning side of a 2021 matchup against Clay Helton’s Trojans, a 42-26 Utah victory.
Now USC heads into Madison as the favorite, though only slightly. Draft Kings had the Trojans as a three-point pick over Wisconsin, which entered the game at 4-2 and had just given the Big Ten’s last unbeaten team, UCLA, a fight before falling 17-7 at the Rose Bowl.
USC remains in the thick of both the conference-title chase and the College Football Playoff race, which gives the Trojans a chance to do something Kincaid clearly won’t enjoy: leave Wisconsin with a win.

USC Is Chasing A Local Recruiting Win Lincoln Riley Needs
USCs push for the 2028 class already has a local name at the center of it, and CaRon Williams has become one of the early targets worth tracking. The four-star defensive back has drawn attention from a long list of heavy hitters, but the Trojans have a built-in advantage with multiple visits to campus already under his belt, giving Lincoln Riley and his staff a chance to sell him on staying close to home.
For a program trying to build momentum early in that cycle, landing a player like Williams would matter well beyond one commitment. USC currently has just one pledge in the 2028 class, and the Trojans are expected to ramp up their recruiting efforts in the spring of 2027, which makes this a situation to watch as the next stage of the process gets going. USC Suddenly Has A Big Ten Path Fans Need To See
USCs move into the Big Ten has already changed the way the Trojans are judged, but the league slate still has room for a rivalry twist that would have sounded far-fetched a year ago. With UCLA also in the conference now, the possibility of the two former Pac-12 rivals meeting in the Big Ten Championship Game is no longer just a talking point for nostalgics. It is the kind of path that gives the rest of the season an extra layer of meaning, especially with both programs trying to finish strong and keep themselves in the title chase.
For UCLA, the loss of starting quarterback Nico Iamaleava reshapes the equation, while USC is focused on what its own schedule and key contributors can still produce down the stretch. The conference race is tight enough that both teams have to keep stacking wins to stay in range, and the matchup possibilities only get more interesting from there. If the pieces continue to fall a certain way, the Big Ten could end up with a championship game that once belonged only to old conference lore. [Read more 🡒]
USC May Be Further Along Than Fans Expected Under Eric Musselman
For a USC team still settling into life under Eric Musselman, the early signs were more polished than many expected. The No. 21 Trojans handled San Diego State in exhibition play, leading from start to finish in an 85-68 win that showed a group already buying into the defensive edge and efficient offensive pace Musselman wants.
Rodney Rice poured in 23 points, and Alijah Arenas added a 22-point, 12-rebound double-double to anchor a performance that had plenty of balance. USCs 15-0 run in the first half was the kind of stretch that can hint at real progress, even if the bigger test of how far along this roster truly is will have to wait for games that count.
