Davidson Stuns as USC Team Sports Her Image in Unison

Freshman sensation Jazzy Davidson graces the cover of SLAMU Magazine, reflecting her standout debut season with USC womens basketball.

The USC women’s basketball team recently took a unique step to celebrate one of their standout players, Jazzy Davidson. Before heading out for their latest road trip, the team sported shirts featuring Davidson’s SLAMU cover photo, a nod to her burgeoning status in college basketball.

In a heartfelt video shared on USC women’s basketball’s Instagram, Head Coach Lindsay Gottlieb praised the team’s camaraderie and highlighted Davidson’s achievements. “We have our latest SLAM cover athlete,” Gottlieb announced, emphasizing Davidson’s impact as a freshman and her potential as a future star.

SLAM University, a branch of SLAM Magazine dedicated to college hoops, has become a cultural staple since its 1994 inception, connecting fans to the sport through dynamic storytelling and imagery. Davidson’s feature on the cover, announced on February 18, marks a significant milestone in her young career, showcasing her journey and aspirations at USC.

Reflecting on the program's rich history, Davidson expressed her excitement about contributing to its legacy. “There’s been a lot of legendary players that have come through here,” she said, eager to leave her mark.

Davidson’s freshman year has been nothing short of spectacular. She’s racked up seven Big Ten Freshman of the Week awards, four consecutive honors, and multiple national recognitions, including a spot on the 2026 Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Late-Season Team. Her impressive stats-averaging 18.1 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game-underscore her all-around talent, while her defensive prowess is highlighted by a team-leading 60 blocks.

This cover feature places Davidson in elite company, following in the footsteps of junior guard JuJu Watkins, who graced the SLAMU cover in 2024, and incoming recruit Saniyah Hall, who appeared on SLAM HS’s cover in November 2025. All three were top recruits, underscoring USC’s knack for attracting top-tier talent.

Davidson’s journey is just beginning, but her impact is already being felt both on and off the court. With her talent and drive, she’s poised to continue making waves in the basketball world.
