The BIG EAST has laid out the 2026-27 men’s basketball schedule, and UConn opens league play on Dec. 23 at home against Georgetown before rolling into a full 20-game round robin that runs through a March 6 trip to Xavier.
That conference slate comes in a season that will be UConn’s 41st in the BIG EAST. The Huskies have built a hefty league résumé over that stretch, going 409-263 (.609) in regular season play and matching or holding the conference standard with eight BIG EAST Tournament titles and 11 regular season championships. Their latest sweep of both crowns came in 2023-24, when they also set a league record with 18 conference wins.
Since rejoining the conference before the 2020-21 season, UConn has been the BIG EAST’s best regular-season team by record at 86-30 (.741). The Huskies have finished in the top four of the standings in each of the last six seasons, advanced to the semifinals of the conference tournament every year in that span, and reached the title game twice in the last three seasons, including that 2024 dual crown.
Before the conference grind begins, UConn’s nonconference slate is packed with heavyweight names and plenty of neutral-site stops. The Huskies will open with an exhibition against Syracuse at Mohegan Sun on Oct. 13, then face Michigan State on the road Oct. 20 and Purdue at home Oct. 27 in exhibition play.
The regular season starts Nov. 2 against Gardner-Webb, followed by a Nov. 6 matchup with Michigan in Boston. From there, UConn gets Wagner, Ohio State, a road test at Arizona, Duke in Las Vegas, Rider, Illinois in Chicago, Mississippi Valley State, Kansas, Delaware State and Virginia at Madison Square Garden before the league schedule kicks in.
Once BIG EAST play begins, the calendar is lined up with the usual home-and-home gauntlet. After Georgetown, UConn will visit Butler on Dec. 31, play at Creighton on Jan. 3, host DePaul on Jan. 6, travel to Seton Hall on Jan. 9 and host Marquette on Jan.
- Xavier comes to town Jan. 16, followed by a Jan. 20 trip to Providence and a Jan. 23 home date with Butler.
The stretch continues with road games at Georgetown on Jan. 26 and at St. John’s at Madison Square Garden on Jan. 29, then home games against Villanova on Feb.
3, Creighton on Feb. 7, Seton Hall on Feb.
17, Providence on Feb. 27 and St. John’s on March 2.
The Huskies also visit DePaul on Feb. 10, play at Villanova at Xfinity Mobile Arena on Feb. 14, and head to Marquette on Feb. 20 before closing at Xavier on March 6.

UConn's First Road Test Could Reveal A Bigger Offensive Concern
UConns first road trip of the season brings a useful early test at Southern Miss, but it also arrives with a larger question hanging over the Huskies offense. At 1-1, they have leaned heavily on quarterback Kalieb Osborne through the opening two games, and that kind of dependence can cover up a lot when the home crowd is behind you and the season is still young.
