UConn men’s basketball now knows the road ahead.
The Big East released its complete 2026-27 league schedule on Monday, and the Huskies will open conference play on Dec. 23 at home against Georgetown. From there, UConn will work through a true 20-game round robin that wraps up March 6 at Xavier.
The league slate gives UConn another chance to chase a regular-season title it last won in 2024. St.
John’s has controlled the top of the standings for the past two seasons, finishing 18-2 in the league and 30-7 overall last year to edge UConn by one game. Rick Pitino’s team also won the last two Big East tournaments.
This will be UConn’s 41st season in the Big East, and the program’s history in the league remains loaded with hardware. The Huskies are 409-263 (.609) in Big East regular-season games all-time, and they either hold or share the conference record with eight tournament championships and 11 regular-season crowns.
Since rejoining the conference ahead of the 2020-21 season, UConn has been the league’s best regular-season team by record, going 86-30 (.741). The Huskies have finished in the top four every year during that stretch and reached the Big East tournament semifinals each time, including two title-game appearances in the last three seasons and the 2024 dual crown.
Before the league grind begins, UConn’s nonconference calendar is loaded. The Huskies will open with an exhibition against Syracuse at Mohegan Sun on Oct. 13, then visit Michigan State on Oct. 20 for another exhibition before hosting Purdue on Oct. 27.
The regular season starts Nov. 2 against Gardner-Webb, followed by a trip to Boston to face Michigan on Nov. 6.
Other notable nonconference dates include Ohio State on Nov. 13, Arizona on Nov.
18, Duke in Las Vegas on Nov. 25, Illinois in Chicago on Dec.
4, Kansas on Dec. 12 and Virginia at Madison Square Garden on Dec. 20.
Big East play then brings a familiar mix of home-and-away tests: Butler, Creighton, DePaul, Seton Hall, Marquette, Xavier, Providence, St. John’s and Villanova all show up on the schedule, with the road trip to St. John’s set for Jan. 29 at Madison Square Garden and the rematch against the Red Storm on March 2.

UConn's First Road Test Could Reveal A Bigger Offensive Concern
UConns first road trip of the season brings a useful early test at Southern Miss, but it also arrives with a larger question hanging over the Huskies offense. At 1-1, they have leaned heavily on quarterback Kalieb Osborne through the opening two games, and that kind of dependence can cover up a lot when the home crowd is behind you and the season is still young.
