UConn women’s basketball is gearing up for an exciting three-game series against the Duke Blue Devils, set to kick off next season. The series will begin with a clash at TD Garden in Boston on November 28, 2026, before transitioning to a traditional home-and-home format. The Huskies will head to Cameron Indoor Stadium in the 2027-28 season, with Duke visiting UConn in 2028-29.
This series holds special significance for UConn’s rising star, Sarah Strong. A Durham, North Carolina native, where Duke calls home, Strong will have a homecoming of sorts during the second game. Adding another layer of connection, her mother, Allison Feaster, is the Boston Celtics’ Vice President of Team Operations & Organizational Growth, linking the family to the TD Garden matchup.
Historically, UConn has dominated the rivalry, boasting a 14-3 record against Duke. While the teams split their first six encounters, the Huskies have emerged victorious in the last 11 matchups. Their postseason history is rich, with Duke claiming the initial 2006 Elite Eight victory, but UConn has since taken the next three, including a commanding 75-40 win in the 2011 Elite Eight and a gritty 53-45 triumph in the 2024 Sweet Sixteen.
Interestingly, their last two meetings unfolded in Portland, Oregon, showcasing the teams' competitive spirit at the Phil Knight Legacy Tournament and the Portland 3 Region of the NCAA Tournament.
The upcoming game at TD Garden marks UConn’s second appearance at the venue. Their first was a decisive 78-38 win over Boston College in the 1996 Reebok Classic, back when the arena was known as the Fleet Center.
Looking ahead to the 2026-27 season, UConn’s non-conference schedule is shaping up to be a challenging one. While home games are yet to be announced, the Huskies will travel to Louisville, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Florida State.
They’ll also face South Carolina at Mohegan Sun Arena on November 24, take on Duke at TD Garden, and meet LSU in Nashville, with the date still to be determined. Additionally, they’ll participate in the Champions Classic at Barclays Center, with details forthcoming.
This series promises to be a thrilling chapter in the storied rivalry between these two powerhouse programs, and fans can expect a showcase of top-tier basketball talent and intense competition.
