Another Class of 2027 name has landed on UConn’s radar, and this one comes with plenty of polish.
Nasir Anderson is the latest top recruit from that group to show interest in the Huskies, joining NaVorro Bowman Jr. and Moussa Kamissoko as Class of 2027 prospects keeping UConn in the mix. According to Sam Kayser, Anderson has trimmed his list to 10 schools: Kentucky, North Carolina, UConn, Providence, Syracuse, Indiana, Florida, Virginia, Tennessee and Georgia.
The Georgia native is listed at 6-foot-4 and sits No. 9 overall in the SC Next 100 (ESPN) rankings. He also has international hardware on his résumé, having represented Team USA at the 2025 FIBA U16 AmeriCup, where he helped bring home gold and earned MVP honors. Anderson averaged 12.3 points and 6.8 assists in that event, and his 6.8 assists led the tournament.
One other detail stands out: Anderson is a left-handed shooter, the same as current UConn guard Solo Ball.
For the Huskies, the pitch is easy to see. Dan Hurley’s program is still operating at a level that sells itself.
UConn has reached the national title game in three of the last four seasons, something no other program in the country can match, and it has won two national championships in those three trips. If Anderson is looking for a place where winning at the college level is part of the package, UConn has a strong argument.
There’s also the Hurley factor. Playing for him is no walk in the park, but the source of the appeal is clear: his coaching is designed to get players ready for the next level.
On the football side, former UConn player Joe Fagnano kept making noise for the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday. In their 13-3 preseason win over the Minnesota Vikings, Fagnano was sharp, going 15-of-20 for 123 yards and a touchdown without an interception. He posted a quarterback rating of 105.9.
Tyler Huntley finished 5-of-8, but Fagnano appears to be staking out a real role for Baltimore going forward. Though he went undrafted in this year’s NFL Draft, he signed a three-year deal with the Ravens after the draft.

Illinois is clearly aiming to sharpen itself against the sports toughest names, and that includes a matchup in Chicago on Dec. 4 at the United Center. It also adds a layer of intrigue because this is not just another high-profile game on the calendar, but one that carries the feel of a rematch atmosphere and a chance for both programs to take an early read on where they stand.
