UConn’s fall calendar is starting to stack up, and Tuesday afternoon brings a fresh batch of ticket news for fans who want an early look at both basketball teams.
Tickets for two home preseason games go on sale at 3 p.m. ET Tuesday.
The women open that slate first, facing Texas on Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. at PeoplesBank Arena in Hartford. A week later, the men will play Purdue, also in Hartford, on Oct. 27 at 7 p.m.
Those aren’t the only tickets going up for grabs. Also available Tuesday will be seats for the women’s season opener against Army, set for Oct. 25 at 4 p.m. at Gampel Pavilion.
On the football side, UConn’s Week 6 trip to Temple now has a kickoff time. The Huskies and Owls will meet at 3:45 p.m. on Oct. 10 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, the school announced Monday.
UConn is 2-2 and will host Syracuse this Saturday at noon on CBS Sports Network at Pratt and Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field in East Hartford. Temple enters at 1-3 after opening with a win over Rhode Island and then losing to Penn State, Toledo and Army. The game will be the 22nd all-time meeting between the schools, with Temple leading the series 14-7.
There was also tough news involving a familiar name to UConn fans. Connecticut native and former Huskies running back Cam Edwards is done for the year after suffering a knee injury. Edwards was carted off Saturday during Michigan State’s 31-13 loss to Nebraska, and head coach Pat Fitzgerald said Monday he will miss the rest of the season.
In three-plus games with the Spartans, Edwards had 64 carries for 304 yards and three touchdowns. At UConn, he spent four seasons from 2022-25 and left his mark in the record book, tying for first in yards per carry at 5.6 and ranking fifth in rushing yards with 2,690 and rushing touchdowns with 27. He also sits ninth in school history with 467 carries.
Before the season, Edwards was named to the Maxwell Award and Doak Walker Award watch lists. He entered the 2026 campaign ranked fourth among active FBS players in rushing yards and sixth in rushing touchdowns.
Weather interrupted the golf side of the weekend, too. The second round of the UConn Invitational at GreatHorse in Hampden, Mass., was washed out Monday, forcing the event down to 36 holes. The final 18 will be played Tuesday.
After Sunday’s opening round, Rhode Island led at 6-over 294. Providence, Bryant and Fairfield were tied for second at 295, one shot back. UConn was in 10th place at 312 heading into Tuesday’s final round, which is set for 8:30 a.m.

UConn gets Syracuse at noon Saturday in a matchup that looks a lot different once you dig past the record. The Orange are bringing in Steve Angeli as the starting quarterback, and they will have another layer of skill talent available as well, with receivers Umari Hatcher and Justus Ross-Simmons already giving that offense options to work with.
Calvin Russell III is also expected to be part of the mix for the first time after a remarkably quick recovery from an Achilles injury. For a UConn defense that has to prepare on a short week, that adds another name to track and another way Syracuse can stress a secondary that may have spent most of the week game-planning for one version of the Orange and now has to account for a more varied attack. UConns home date with Syracuse on Saturday brings more than a Power 5 name onto the schedule. It also puts Jason Candle in a familiar football neighborhood, with connections across both sidelines and a test that comes with plenty of shared history. Syracuse is turning to Steve Angeli at quarterback, and the Orange are also expected to introduce freshman wide receiver Calvin Russell to college football in the same game.
The coaching overlap is just as notable for UConn. Candle and Syracuse defensive coordinator Vince Kehres worked together at Toledo, and UConn offensive coordinator Nunzio Campanile has Syracuse ties of his own, which gives the matchup an extra layer beyond the usual nonconference meeting. The UConn-to-San Antonio pipeline has added a new wrinkle for Huskies fans to track this fall. Stephon Castle and Tarris Reed Jr., both former UConn mens basketball players, were taken in the first round of consecutive NBA Drafts by the Spurs, and now theyre sharing the floor in preseason as the franchise continues to lean on recent draft success.
Castle has already established himself as a starting point guard in San Antonio, while Reed is trying to carve out a role in the frontcourt. Their overlap gives UConn followers a familiar connection to watch, especially with Castle sounding encouraged by what he has seen from Reed in practice.
