Coach K Reacts To Mullins Final Four Heroics

UConn's Braylon Mullins defies the odds with a game-winning shot, earning accolades from Coach K and etching his name into March Madness lore.

Pat McAfee wasted no time capturing one of the standout moments of the 2026 NCAA Tournament, sitting down with Braylon Mullins after his electrifying game-winning shot propelled the UConn Huskies back to the Final Four.

Kicking things off with a nod to Mullins’ Indiana roots, McAfee highlighted the poetic return to Indianapolis. But all eyes were on the shot itself-a moment Mullins described as surreal.

Despite a rocky start, going 0-for-4, Mullins was undeterred. With seconds remaining, he trusted his instincts.

“I knew once I had the ball… I had to put one up,” Mullins shared. “It came off my hand pretty well.

It’s crazy that was the one that went in.”

McAfee delved into Mullins' confidence, pointing out how teammates were heard on the CBS broadcast saying any shot Mullins takes has a chance. Mullins confirmed that belief was unwavering. Even on a tough shooting night, he stood his ground.

Mullins admitted the whirlwind of emotions is still settling in, calling it “crazy to process.”

The interview also featured a cameo from Mike Krzyzewski, who lauded Mullins for his clutch performance. "Congratulations, son," Coach K remarked.

"What an amazing moment. And how about your senior leader, Alex Karaban, having the confidence in you to make a historical pass before the historical shot."

Mullins' moment is now etched in March Madness lore. As UConn gears up to face Illinois, the shot that toppled Duke will be a lasting memory for fans and players alike.
