UCLA Upset Oregon And A Celebrity Backer Cashed In Big

Oregon's unexpected downfall to UCLA not only reshapes their season outlook but also lines 50 Cent's pockets with a hefty winning bet.

No. 13 Oregon’s 17-15 loss to No.

21 UCLA on Oct. 10 did more than hand the Ducks their second defeat of the season. It also turned rapper and producer 50 Cent into one of the night’s unlikely winners.

Curtis Jackson, better known as 50 Cent, said he was on UCLA in a big way before kickoff. In an Instagram caption after the game, he wrote: "Told you I bet 100k ($100,000) they gave me 450k ($450,000).

When I tell you something, next time eat fool," Jackson told his followers in the caption. " BIG BAG.

UCLA covered. I knew they was not coming to lose.

[Now] 5-0 I can feel it!"

According to DraftKings odds shortly before kickoff, UCLA was listed at +320 on the moneyline.

Jackson’s bet came after UCLA coach Bob Chesney revealed that he listens to Jackson’s song "Many Men (Wish Dish)" from the 2002-2003 album "Get Rich or Die Tryin'." Chesney made that admission to ESPN college football/NFL reporter Paolo Uggetti before the Bruins’ trip to Eugene. He had even been bobbing his head to the track during a 7:15 in the morning practice session.

That connection apparently caught Jackson’s attention. He posted his pick on Instagram about 24 hours before the game, backing UCLA to pull the upset inside Autzen Stadium. When the Bruins did exactly that, Jackson came out ahead in a major way.

The result leaves Oregon trying to regroup after what the source describes as its second self destruction of the 2026 season. It was also the Ducks’ first loss in Big Ten play, a setback that makes the path ahead even more demanding.

And the schedule does not ease up. Oregon still has Ohio State in Columbus later on, plus a Halloween matchup with Northwestern, which now has former Ducks coach Chip Kelly as offensive coordinator. Nebraska, the Ducks’ Oct. 17 opponent, is also expected to be coming in frustrated after nearly upsetting defending national champion Indiana on the same day.

For Oregon, the margin for error is shrinking fast. To have any shot at the conference championship game or the College Football Playoffs, the Ducks likely need to win out and hope other results break their way. For Jackson, though, the night ended with a very different kind of outcome: one very profitable Bruins pick.

Oregon Fans Have A New AP Poll Problem After USC's Statement Win

USCs statement win over Penn State is already stirring up the next AP Poll debate, and the ripple effects could reach well beyond the playoff picture. With Georgia handling Alabama and Texas falling to Oklahoma, the top of the rankings is in motion again, but USCs surge is the bigger storyline for teams tracking the middle of the bracket and the race for respect that comes with it.

For UCLA, the timing matters too. The Bruins are sitting in the mix after a strong road win at Oregon, and the updated poll is expected to reward that result by pushing them ahead of USC. It would be another small but meaningful marker in a season where every ranking shift can shape how the rest of the schedule is viewed, especially with USC still staring at a difficult stretch that includes Ohio State, Indiana and UCLA. Iowa's Rebound Just Changed How Michigan Fans See That Loss

Iowas latest showing offered a little context for a result that had looked damaging before the rest of the Big Ten settled in around it. The Hawkeyes leaned on a strong running game and got enough from the backup quarterback spot to keep momentum moving, which matters for Michigan because it softens the edge of that earlier loss and reminds everyone how tricky league road trips can be.

The ripple effects stretch beyond Ann Arbor, too, because UCLA and Oregon are both still part of a changing league picture shaped by what happened over the weekend. UCLAs defense was especially forceful in its win over Oregon, and the availability of key players will continue to matter as these teams move into another critical stretch of conference play. Big Ten Weighs In On Controversial Ending To UCLAs Biggest Win

UCLAs biggest win of the season carried more than the usual road-game relief, because the Bruins left Oregon with a 17-15 victory in a game defined by defense and a frantic finish. UCLAs defense did enough to put the Ducks in a position where every snap mattered late, and the outcome stayed on a knifes edge into the fourth quarter before the Bruins finally escaped with a signature result away from home.

The ending, though, was not free of controversy, and the Big Ten moved quickly to weigh in on the final sequence. Oregon came up empty on a pair of two-point conversion tries, and the conference acknowledged there was an officiating mistake on the second attempt, saying it is addressing the issue with its officiating team. For UCLA, the win still counts the same in the standings, but the discussion around how it ended is likely to linger a while longer. [Read more 🡒]
