UCLA’s 2027 recruiting class has a busy week ahead, and the headliner is already a familiar one.
Duece Jones-Drew turned in the kind of performance that keeps getting him noticed. The De La Salle running back went for 211 yards and three touchdowns against Corona Centennial, helping the Spartans pull out a 35-32 win over the Huskies.
He did it inside Memorial Stadium, home of the Cal Golden Bears. The source material notes that Tosh Lupoi may have been watching Jones-Drew and regretting that they didn't land him.

UCLAs Oregon Trip Just Got More Complicated For One Big Reason
Oregons bye week comes at a good time after a 41-27 win over No. 18 USC, but it also creates an uncomfortable waiting game for a UCLA team that already knew a trip to Autzen Stadium would be a major test. The Bruins are set to face the No. 15 Ducks on Oct. 10 in a noon kickoff on CBS, and the shape of that matchup has now been thrown into sharper focus by what happened in Los Angeles.
Dante Moore left the USC game with a concussion, even though clean MRI and CT scans were reported, and backup Dylan Raiola finished off the victory in his absence. UCLAs defense came out of the Maryland blowout with real momentum, and the biggest takeaway was how disruptive the unit looked on the back end. The secondary accounted for four interceptions and even turned two of them into touchdowns, a reminder that the Bruins are starting to win games not just by getting stops, but by creating immediate momentum swings.
The front seven has been driving that progress, too, with the linebacking corps emerging as the most reliable part of the defense. Sammy Omosigho has been at the center of it all, leading the Bruins in sacks, tackles and forced fumbles, while Jalen Woods has helped steady the group alongside him.
