Eric Dailey Jr. Makes Key UCLA Return Decision

UCLA power forward Eric Dailey Jr. announces his return for the 2026-27 season, aiming to elevate his performance and lead the Bruins with a strengthened roster.

UCLA fans, get ready to welcome back power forward Eric Dailey Jr. for another season in Westwood. After transferring from Oklahoma State, Dailey has spent the last two years making his mark with the Bruins and has one more year of eligibility to showcase his talents.

Last season, Dailey was a consistent presence on the court, starting all 35 games. He averaged 11.6 points per game with an impressive 48.6 percent shooting.

His contributions didn’t stop there, as he also pulled down 5.8 rebounds and dished out 1.3 assists per game. While Dailey's defensive versatility is a significant asset, he's been known to have some ups and downs.

However, with another year under his belt, he's poised to reach All-Big Ten potential.

Dailey was pivotal in UCLA's NCAA Tournament journey, shining in their 75-71 victory over UCF with a team-high 20 points. He filled the stat sheet with five rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and two steals. Even in the tough 73-57 loss to UConn, Dailey managed to score 12 points and grab five rebounds.

His leadership was evident during UCLA's strong finish to the regular season and their run to the Big Ten Tournament semifinals. After a thrilling 88-84 win over Michigan State, Dailey spoke about the team's renewed mindset.

"Everybody is focused on the right things," he said. "People are sick of losing and how we lose.

It's knowing we've got the talent, that's not the problem."

With Dailey's return, UCLA now has six scholarship players lined up for next season. Joining him are Xavier Booker, Brandon Williams, and Eric Freeny, who have all confirmed their return.

The Bruins are also bringing in fresh talent with high school standouts Javonte Floyd and Joe Philon. The only question mark remains Trent Perry, who has yet to announce his plans.

UCLA is gearing up for another exciting season, and with Dailey leading the charge, the Bruins are set to make some noise in the Big Ten.
