Welcome to the latest edition of the Toronto Raptors prospect power rankings, where we dive deep into the performances of the up-and-coming talent within the organization. Our focus is on rookies, two-way contract players, and those with the Raptors 905, offering insights into their journey and development.
After a brief pause, the rankings are back, and there's been plenty of movement within the Raptors 905. With call-ups, new additions, and injuries, it's been a whirlwind. Now that the dust has settled, let's break down who’s making waves.
Previously, we noted Julian Reese's move to the NBA, and now Olivier Sarr and David Roddy have joined him. Sarr, after a brief hiatus due to knee soreness, returned in fine form, earning a two-way contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Meanwhile, Roddy impressed during his stint with the USA’s World Cup qualifying team, landing a similar deal with the Denver Nuggets.
To fill the gaps, the 905 brought in former first overall pick Markelle Fultz and Canadian Tyrese Samuel. Both are still finding their rhythm, with Fultz averaging 5.0 points and 5.5 assists, and Samuel contributing 8.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in their initial games.
With playoffs on the horizon, the 905 have six games left to fine-tune their lineup. Here’s how the prospects stack up this week:
- **A.J.
Lawson (4)**
The Brampton native made a strong impression, despite playing just one game last week.
Against the Westchester Knicks, Lawson dropped a game-high 28 points, along with six rebounds and three assists, propelling the 905 to a three-game winning streak.
- Quincy Guerrier (NR)
Back from a right ankle sprain, Guerrier showcased his versatility. Averaging 16.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists on 75% shooting, his defensive prowess and adaptability have been key assets for the 905.
- Tyreke Key (9)
Key’s season has been a rollercoaster, but last week he was on the upswing. Stepping into the starting lineup, he averaged 20.5 points, 2.5 assists, and 1.5 rebounds, shooting an impressive 65.2% from the field and 50% from three-point range.
- Jonathan Mogbo (5)
Mogbo continues to excel defensively. In his sole game last week, he posted a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds, along with three assists and a steal, proving his value both on the 905 and the main roster.
- Alijah Martin (3)
Martin contributed 17 points, five assists, and five rebounds against the Delaware Blue Coats. His season stats are impressive, with 19.1 points on 50/40/72 shooting splits and a standout defensive rating, making him a perfect fit for the Raptors' defensive mindset.
- Jarkel Joiner (7)
- AJ Hoggard (6)
- Tyson Degenhart (10)
- Tyrese Samuel (NR)
- Markelle Fultz (NR)
- Caleb Stone-Carrawell (11)
Injuries and personal matters have sidelined Collin Murray-Boyles, Chucky Hepburn, Patrick McCaw, and Tylor Perry, but their return could further shake up the rankings.
