Shane Bieber’s family is leaning all the way into Toronto.
While the 31-year-old pitcher is sidelined with an injury, his wife, Kara, turned a recent day at Rogers Centre into a Blue Jays-themed baby shower. The celebration came as Bieber and the club watch a tight race for the final AL wildcard spot unfold around them, and it also marked another family milestone as they await the birth of their second child.
Kara shared video from the shower on Instagram on Sunday and kept the message simple: "Blue Jays baby shower," she captioned the post. "The best day, so thankful for these women."
The Biebers first announced in August that they were expecting again, and the party made clear how settled they’ve become in Toronto. Shane arrived with the Blue Jays after last year’s trade deadline, then remained with the team for this season after choosing to pick up his $16 million player option at the end of last season.
There had been talk that Toronto might deal Bieber at the most recent trade deadline, but he stayed put. If the shower theme was any indication, that worked out just fine for the family.
The gathering drew plenty of company, too. The wives of Jameson Taillon, Spencer Arrighetti, Tyler Rogers, Louis Varland, Josh Smith, Joe Mantiply, and Max Scherzer were all there, along with Dylan Cease’s longtime girlfriend, Christen Dye, and Ernie Clement’s fiancée, Stefani Brejcha.
Shane and Kara were married in 2023, and they welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Kav, in 2025.
