Shane Bieber’s family found a way to turn a regular night at Rogers Centre into something a lot more personal.
While the Toronto Blue Jays were in the middle of a tight push for the final AL wildcard spot, Bieber’s wife, Kara, hosted a Blue Jays-themed baby shower at the ballpark. The 31-year-old pitcher is currently out with an injury, but he and his family have clearly settled in with the team, and they’re also waiting on the arrival of their second child.
The couple announced in August that they were expecting, and Kara marked the occasion on Sunday by posting video from the shower on Instagram. She captioned it, "Blue Jays baby shower," she captioned the post. "The best day, so thankful for these women."
The Biebers first arrived in Toronto after last year’s trade deadline and remained with the club this season after Shane chose to exercise his $16 million player option at the end of last year. There had been chatter that the Blue Jays might move him at the most recent trade deadline, but he stayed put.
The guest list made the whole thing feel like a team event. Wives of Jameson Taillon, Spencer Arrighetti, Tyler Rogers, Louis Varland, Josh Smith, Joe Mantiply, and Max Scherzer were all there, along with Dylan Cease’s longtime girlfriend, Christen Dye, and Ernie Clement’s fiancée, Stefani Brejcha.
Shane and Kara were married in 2023, and they welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Kav, in 2025.
