Kazuma Okamoto made a splash with a two-run homer, giving fans a glimpse of his power at the plate. Meanwhile, Jose Berrios took the mound for 2.2 innings, allowing three hits and two earned runs, with a walk and two strikeouts. While those numbers might not jump off the page, it's noteworthy that he managed to stretch his outing further than any other Blue Jay pitcher this spring.
In the bullpen, Connor Larkin efficiently closed out the third inning. Braydon Fisher showed promise, striking out two in his inning of work despite allowing a hit and a walk. Mason Fluharty also impressed with two strikeouts in his frame.
Jorge Alcala's outing was marred by an unearned run, thanks to a throwing error by C.J. Stubbs during a stolen base attempt, which handed him the loss.
Josh Fleming had a mixed performance, surrendering a home run in his 1.1 innings but also recording a strikeout. Chad Dallas wrapped things up with authority, striking out four of the last five batters he faced.
On the offensive side, the starters struggled to find their rhythm. Andrés Giménez, Ernie Clement, and Daulton Varsho were all hitless, while Vlad Guerrero managed a walk. Alejandro Kirk and Addison Barger also went hitless, with Barger drawing a walk.
Among the other hitters, Carlos Mendoza stood out, going 2-for-2. C.J.
Stubbs had a hit, while RJ Schreck's double was a highlight, despite a strikeout. Charles McAdoo continued his strong spring with an RBI and a .500 batting average over three games, showcasing solid defense as well.
As the team stands at 1-2 this spring, there's plenty of room for growth and adjustment. With a mix of promising performances and areas needing improvement, the Blue Jays are setting the stage for an intriguing season ahead.
