Texas Tech’s 28-26 win over No. 22 Houston had plenty of bite on the field, but a bizarre moment from the TV broadcast ended up pulling some of the spotlight away from the game itself.
The Big 12 opener in Lubbock drew a massive crowd, with the game selling out days before kickoff and 60,229 fans filling the stadium. That kind of atmosphere was always going to make for a loud night, but one fan became the unexpected center of attention after a video on X showed the official broadcast cutting to a brief crowd shot of a female spectator in the stands.
The clip quickly spread online, with the camera zooming in on the fan and even the broadcasters talking about her. But the moment didn’t stay believable for long. It was clear the video was AI-generated, even as plenty of people still jumped into the conversation.
Reaction on X came fast. “That chick is 10x hotter than every Hollywood actress,” one person wrote.
“She’ll get infamy. Someone will find her social media.
She’ll monetize it and start an OF. Our society is cooked,” a second person added.
“Taking the scoreboard down was the move😂😂😂,” a third person pointed out.
“Do cameramen now have a scout like snipers?” one final person asked.
Meanwhile, Joey McGuire’s team keeps rolling. The defending Big 12 champions are off to a 5-0 start overall and 2-0 in conference play, and that run has pushed Texas Tech up to No. 11 in the AP Poll.

Colorado Fans Won't Like Where These Deion Sanders Questions Are Going
Colorados latest skid has put Deion Sanders back in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons, and the discussion around the Buffaloes is starting to sound less like a reaction to one bad afternoon and more like a broader reset. After a third straight loss, ESPN analyst Paul Finebaum took aim at Sanders and pointed to a key interception by quarterback Isaac Wilson, another moment in a stretch that has left Colorado at 2-3 and still searching for any real offensive rhythm.
The quarterback change has not solved much, and Sanders has already acknowledged how poorly the offense has played. Even with his contract extended through 2029, the questions hanging over the program are getting louder, especially as the losses pile up and the direction of the team becomes harder to pin down. For a coach who has brought constant attention to Boulder, the bigger issue now is whether the results are catching up to the hype. [Read more 🡒]
Texas Techs Big 12 Path Looks Tougher Than Fans Expected
Texas Techs off week has given everyone a chance to look ahead, and the picture is a demanding one. The Red Raiders remaining Big 12 slate has been sorted out game by game, with opponents such as TCU, West Virginia, Arizona State and Cincinnati all drawing different levels of concern depending on form and where they sit this season.
What makes the stretch run so unforgiving is the math attached to it. Texas Tech likely needs at least six wins in its final seven regular-season games to stay on track for the Big 12 Championship Game, which leaves little room for a stumble once play resumes. The schedule may still offer paths forward, but the margin is thin and the room for error is shrinking fast. [Read more 🡒]
