Four standout athletes from the Texas Rangers Youth Academy have announced their commitments to continue both their educational and athletic journeys at the collegiate level. This brings the total number of committed athletes from the Academy's class of 2026 to an impressive 26.
Caleb Adams, a talented left-handed outfielder and pitcher from The Colony High School, will be taking his skills to Yavapai College’s NJCAA program. Adams showcased his abilities during the 2025 RBI season with the Youth Academy.
Joining him is Santiago Pereira, another star from The Colony High School. Pereira, a right-handed shortstop, has committed to Western Texas College at the NJCAA level. He made his mark in the 2025 RBI Regional and Breakthrough Series Invitational.
On the softball side, Reese Worley is set to continue her career at Arkansas State University Mountain Home’s NJCAA program. As a catcher and left-handed batter, Worley has been honing her skills with the Youth Academy since 2024 and was a key player in the 2025 RBI season.
Santos Salinas, representing Moisés E. Molina High School and the Youth Academy, will advance his baseball career at Dillard University, an NAIA-level institution. Salinas, a right-handed pitcher, has participated in numerous Breakthrough Series Invitationals, Commissioner’s Cups, and RBI Regionals.
2026 Rangers NIKE RBI Registration Now Open
The Nike Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) program, backed by Major League Baseball, Nike, and the Texas Rangers, is now accepting registrations for the 2026 season. This initiative emphasizes fundamentals, sportsmanship, and character development, running from May 18 to August 7.
The program offers five divisions:
- Senior Baseball: Ages 16-18 (as of May 1, 2026)
- Junior Baseball: Ages 13-15 (as of May 1, 2026)
- Senior Softball: Ages 14-18 (as of September 1, 2025)
- Junior Softball: Ages 12-15 (as of September 1, 2025)
- Development League Baseball: Ages 13-17 (as of May 1, 2026)
Interested athletes can register at rangersrbi.leagueapps.com, but securing a spot requires showcasing skills at tryouts.
2026 Spring Training Camp Begins March 23
The Texas Rangers MLB Youth Academy is gearing up for its Spring Training Camp starting March 23. Beyond just baseball and softball, the Academy, in partnership with Bucker International, offers free educational and enrichment courses for athletes and their families throughout the year. Registration is open for all Youth Academy classes.
