Tom Brady managed to turn a FOX broadcast into a locker-room session on Sunday, and the clip that got away was as blunt as it gets.
While calling Cowboys-Commanders, Brady watched Dak Prescott uncork a throw and blurted out an “absolute pi** missile.” It came out fast, with no polished broadcast replacement and no real cushion around it. That was the line that spread.
Earlier in the game, the booth had already veered off script. On the final play of the second quarter, Jayden Daniels’ left elbow bent the wrong way, and Brady reacted immediately: “Oh s-t,” then, “Excuse me. I was not expecting to see that.”
Dallas beat Washington 37-20 at AT&T Stadium. Prescott had the ball after Daniels left on a cart, and Marcus Mariota took over for the second half.
The “piss missile” line was the one people kept repeating because it was funny and easy to clip. But the injury reaction was the moment that made Brady apologize on the air. He has spent Year 3 pushing back on the idea that the broadcast criticism around him is clickbait, but Sunday gave people plenty of unscripted material.
Kevin Burkhardt can handle the down and distance. Brady, meanwhile, kept sounding like the quarterback he used to be. When the ball jumped out of Dak’s hand, he reached for the language of the huddle, not the booth.

Then came another awkward moment later, tied to a family mix-up involving Regina, Jayden’s mom, and the language kept leaking out around it.
FOX is paying Brady $375 million to sit in that chair, and Sunday was a reminder that a seven-time champion does not always sound like a polished analyst. Sometimes he sounds exactly like the guy who used to throw the missile. Dallas is 1-1, Washington is 0-2 and without its starter, and Brady is 3-for-3 on unfiltered audio.
