Texas softball now knows the road map for its 2027 SEC season, and it starts with a heavyweight home opener.
The Longhorns will play 24 conference games, with four SEC series at Red and Charline McCombs Field. Florida, Alabama, Missouri and Mississippi State are the teams coming to Austin.
Texas opens league play at home against Florida from March 12-14, then goes on the road to Tennessee from March 19-21. The Longhorns return to McCombs Field for Alabama on March 26-28 before heading to Fayetteville, Arkanasas, for a series at Arkansas on April 2-4.
The home slate continues with Missouri on April 9-11. After a trip to Baton Rouge, La., for LSU from April 16-18, Texas gets an SEC bye week on April 23-25. The Longhorns then host Mississippi State from April 30-May 2 before finishing the regular season at Auburn on May 6-8.
According to a news release from Texas Athletics, the full conference schedule is:
“The Longhorns open conference play at home against Florida on March 12-14 before hitting the road to Tennessee on March 19-21. Texas returns to the friendly confines of McCombs Field to host Alabama on March 26-28.
The Longhorns will head to Fayetteville, Arkanasas, for its second SEC road series at Arkansas on April 2-4. Texas hosts Missouri at McCombs Field on April 9-11 and travels to Baton Rouge, La., to take on the LSU Tigers on April 16-18.
Following their SEC bye week on April 23-25, Texas returns to conference action hosting the Mississippi State Bulldogs on April 30-May 2 at McCombs Field. Texas wraps up the regular season on the road at Auburn on May 6-8.”

Texas womens basketball now has a road map for a season that will ask plenty of it from the jump. The program released its complete 2026-27 schedule, and it is packed with the kind of games that should tell a lot about where the Longhorns stand, from a home opener against Fairleigh Dickinson on Nov. 4 to a loaded run that also includes the SEC/ACC Challenge against Louisville and a trip to the Players Era Showcase in Las Vegas.
There is already plenty of anticipation around the season, too, with the school announcing a record 7,100 season tickets sold. Add in exhibition tuneups and a slate full of key SEC matchups, and the early part of the year looks less like a warmup than a proving ground. Texas Finally Has A New Answer For Ryan Wingos Burden
Texas spent the offseason looking for a way to make life easier on Ryan Wingo, and it found one in the transfer portal. Cam Coleman arrived from Auburn with a chance to change the shape of the Longhorns passing game, giving Steve Sarkisian another wideout who can absorb some of the attention Wingo drew as Texas primary target a season ago.
Sarkisian acknowledged after last seasons Ohio State loss that Wingo had been carrying too much of the load, and Colemans presence should help correct that imbalance.
