Texas Longhorns Land Massive Four-Star Commit for 2026 Lineup

Texas wins a key recruiting battle in the trenches with the signing of highly touted offensive lineman Nic Robertson.

The Texas Longhorns just landed a key piece for the future of their offensive line, signing Klein standout Nic Robertson - a 6-foot-3, 335-pound interior lineman - as part of their 2026 recruiting class. And make no mistake: this is a big win for Kyle Flood and his unit.

Robertson committed back in late March during a Texas recruiting event, and despite plenty of attention from other major programs, he never wavered. That kind of early commitment - and the confidence to stick with it - says a lot about both the player and the program.

Texas beat out some serious competition to land Robertson. Houston, LSU, and Texas A&M were all in the mix - no small feat considering how dominant those schools have been when it comes to pulling top talent out of the Houston area.

And it wasn’t just regional powers knocking on Robertson’s door. His offer sheet included heavy hitters like Alabama, USC, Penn State, and Arkansas, plus in-state contenders like Baylor, TCU, and Texas Tech.

In total, he held 20 offers - a clear sign of how highly regarded he is across the country.

A consensus four-star prospect, Robertson is ranked No. 446 nationally and No. 36 among interior offensive linemen, per the 247Sports Composite. Those numbers matter, but what Texas fans should really be excited about is the physical presence he brings to the trenches. At 335 pounds, he’s already built for the next level, and he’s only going to get stronger under a college strength program.

He took his official visit to Austin during the Longhorns’ loaded June 20 recruiting weekend - a key date on the calendar that featured several top-tier targets. After that trip, it was clear Robertson saw Austin as home. No late flips, no drama - just a solid, steady commitment that held through to signing day.

With Robertson now officially in the fold, Kyle Flood has three offensive linemen committed in the 2026 cycle, joining Georgetown’s Kaden Scherer and John Turntine out of North Crowley. Each brings something different to the table, but Robertson might be the anchor of the group - a true interior presence who can set the tone up front.

For a Texas program that’s looking to build not just depth but dominance in the trenches, this is the kind of recruiting win that lays the foundation. Robertson isn’t just a name on a list - he’s a future difference-maker in the middle of the line.
