College GameDay Heads to Austin as No. 4 Texas Hosts Rival No. 16 Oklahoma
The energy in Austin is about to hit another level. ESPN’s College GameDay Covered by State Farm® is making its first stop of the 2025-26 women’s college basketball season at the Moody Center on Sunday, February 1, setting the stage for a top-25 showdown between No.
4 Texas and No. 16 Oklahoma.
Tip-off is set for 2:00 PM CT on ABC, but the party starts early with GameDay going live at 11:00 AM CT.
This marks the first time Texas has hosted College GameDay for women’s hoops, and just their second appearance overall-the first came during last season’s SEC Championship. Now, the Longhorns get to showcase their program in front of a national audience, and they’ll do it in one of the sport’s fiercest rivalries.
The broadcast lineup is stacked. Christine Williamson takes over hosting duties in her first season in the role, bringing a fresh presence to the desk.
She’s joined by basketball analyst Andraya Carter-back for her fourth season after a 2023 Sports Emmy nomination-and Chiney Ogwumike, the two-time WNBA All-Star and multi-sport analyst returning for her third year on the show. Together, they bring a mix of insight, experience, and on-court credibility that should resonate with fans and hoop heads alike.
When the game tips off, it’ll be Ryan Ruocco, Rebecca Lobo, and Holly Rowe calling the action. That trio knows how to bring big moments to life, and with two ranked teams going head-to-head in a rivalry with real postseason implications, there should be no shortage of those moments.
Texas enters the matchup as the No. 4 team in the country, carrying the weight of expectations and the momentum of a strong season. Oklahoma, ranked No. 16, is no stranger to big games either-and they'll be looking to make a statement in enemy territory.
This isn’t just another regular-season game. It’s a measuring stick for both programs, a spotlight for women’s college basketball, and a celebration of the sport’s continued rise. With College GameDay in town and the eyes of the country on Austin, expect the Moody Center to be rocking-and the basketball to live up to the billing.
