Texas has spent the last two months stacking wins on the recruiting trail, and the momentum could keep rolling. A few targets are moving toward decisions, and right now there’s real buzz around a group that could end up in burnt orange.
At the top of the list is 5-star wide receiver Monshun Sales, who has been trending toward Texas more and more over the past couple of months. The Longhorns now appear to have a legitimate chance to beat out Indiana for the massive 6'5", 195-pound pass-catcher.
Sales would be a major addition to a receiver group that already includes Easton Royal, the player ranked right behind him in the 2027 WR rankings. Royal is already committed to Texas and has been pushing hard to help bring Sales along with him.
Because Sales is such a high-profile recruit, he could still wait until the last minute before making his call.
Another name to watch is 5-star RB Landen Williams-Callis, a dangerous weapon out of Richmond-Randle High School. He has shown he can hurt defenses as both a runner and a receiver, and even at 5'7.5", he brings plenty of power thanks to his lower body and aggressive style.
He’s also fast, and his skill set would fit nicely alongside Derrek Cooper in the future. Oregon, Texas A&M and Texas have all been part of the conversation, but Williams-Callis just picked up two crystal balls to Texas from Steve Wiltfong and Sam Spiegelman, two of the most "in-the-know" analysts in college football.
Texas is also in the mix for 4-star OG Lincoln Mageo, even though Michigan is the current prediction. Mageo has built a strong relationship with Longhorns OL coach Kyle Flood, and he’s been to Austin three or four times over the past year. A Michigan commitment may be the early lean, but Texas clearly has a real shot to shake things up here.
On defense, 4-star LB Mikahi Allen is another prospect with Texas in the picture. He could become the next New Jersey player to head to Texas, and the hope is that destination ends up being Austin instead of College Station.
Right now, Allen appears to be trending toward Texas A&M, but Texas has a long track record of pulling top recruits from that part of the country to The Forty Acres. If the Longhorns land him, he’d join Tyler Atkinson as part of what could become Will Muschamp’s linebacker duo of the future.
Rounding out the group is 3-star WR Aden Starling, an in-state receiver who recently decommitted from Georgia. He’s now reportedly choosing between Texas and Purdue.
Purdue could make sense because of the path to playing time, but Texas WR coach Chris Jackson could view him as a strong developmental piece in Austin. Starling wouldn’t change the picture right away, but he could grow into a real contributor for the offense later on.
