In a thrilling weekend showdown at the Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Beach Classic in Honolulu, the No. 6 Texas Beach Volleyball team wrapped up their run with an impressive victory over No.
4 USC, concluding the tournament with a commendable 4-2 record. The Longhorns showcased their prowess by securing four ranked wins, including triumphs over No.
7 Loyola Marymount, No. 9 Cal, and No.
16 Hawai'i, alongside their win against USC.
The action-packed Day 3 began with Texas facing a formidable opponent in No. 2 Stanford.
Despite a hard-fought effort, the Longhorns fell short. Ella Keeven and Lily Davis delivered a clutch performance on Court 4, leveling the score at 2-2 with a three-set victory, 21-17, 16-21, 15-9.
However, Stanford clinched the dual with a decisive win on Court 3, closing the match 21-13, 29-31, 15-8.
Undeterred, Texas bounced back with a nail-biting 3-2 win over USC. Emma Grace Robertson and Savannah Thomas put Texas on the board with a win on Court 3, while Chloe Charles and Davis added another point on Court 4. USC managed to tie the match on Court 2, but Brecht Piersma and Katie Hashman sealed the deal for Texas on Court 1, triumphing in a tense three-setter, 21-18, 14-21, 17-15.
Looking ahead, the Longhorns will return to Austin to host their Orange-White Scrimmage on Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Wright-Whitaker Sports Complex, offering fans a chance to catch this dynamic team in action once more.
