Denver (NC) East Lincoln's standout tight end, Jaxon Dollar, is making waves in the recruiting world. At 6-foot-5 and 222 pounds, Dollar is ranked as the No. 58 overall prospect nationally, the No. 3 tight end, and the No. 2 prospect in North Carolina, according to 247Sports.
Dollar has narrowed his list from over 30 offers to a top 10, including Clemson, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon, Texas, and Texas A&M. He's lined up visits to all these schools and a couple more outside his top 10. Here’s a glimpse of his upcoming schedule:
- March 7: Clemson
- March 13: Missouri
- March 14: Oregon
- March 21: Notre Dame
- April 2: LSU
- April 3: Florida
- April 4: Miami
- April 10: Ohio State
- April 11: Kansas State
- April 16: Texas
- April 17: Texas A&M
- April 18: Georgia
Dollar plans to cut his list to five before embarking on official visits, aiming to finalize his decision around the start of his senior year. He’s been in touch with several programs to understand their vision for his role on the team.
While he hasn't picked favorites yet, Georgia has been making him feel like a top priority, thanks to consistent communication from Coach Hartley. Texas also stands out, particularly due to Coach Steve Sarkisian's strategic use of tight ends, aligning with Dollar's ambition to win a National Championship.
During a previous visit to Texas, Dollar appreciated the campus layout and the atmosphere, even though he didn’t have much time to explore the academic side.
Dollar isn’t just a football phenom; he's also a dual-sport athlete excelling in basketball. Averaging 21.1 points, 10.3 rebounds, 6.7 assists, 3.3 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game, he leads East Lincoln in every category, driving the team to a 19-4 record.
On the football field, Dollar's stats are equally impressive. He caught 54 passes for 1,190 yards and 20 touchdowns, averaging 22 yards per catch and 99.2 yards per game. His versatility extends to defense, where he recorded 38 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, five sacks, and more.
According to 247Sports' Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins, Dollar is a modern slot tight end with a knack for turning jump balls into easy catches, thanks to his athleticism. He’s a dynamic player who can stretch the field and produce significant yards after the catch. While he has limited experience as an in-line blocker, his potential suggests he could become a key asset in a motion-heavy system.
Jaxon Dollar's journey is just heating up, and his combination of size, skill, and versatility makes him a coveted prospect for any college program aiming for the top.
