Georgia Star Arrested On Disturbing Charges

Georgia freshman London Seymour, son of NFL legend Richard Seymour, faces serious legal trouble after a viral TikTok challenge allegedly led to felony property damage charges.

Georgia DT London Seymour Facing Felony Charges After Alleged Dorm Vandalism Linked to TikTok Challenge

Georgia Bulldogs freshman defensive tackle London Seymour, son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Richard Seymour, is facing serious legal trouble after being arrested on January 29 in connection with a string of property damage incidents on the University of Georgia campus.

According to authorities, Seymour and three others allegedly damaged 11 doors across two UGA dormitories during incidents that occurred on December 5 and 6. The 2025 walk-on has been charged with 11 felony counts of criminal damage to property. He was briefly held at Clarke County Jail before posting bond and being released.

The incident is reportedly tied to a viral TikTok trend known as the "door kick" challenge - a social media stunt where participants forcefully kick or bang on doors, often in a prank-style fashion reminiscent of the old "ding-dong ditch" game. Seymour’s attorney, Kim Stephens, confirmed that his client was allegedly participating in this challenge at the time of the damage.

Stephens is aiming to resolve the case through a pretrial diversion program, which could lead to the charges being dismissed if Seymour and the others involved agree to pay restitution for the damage caused.

“The UGAPD took 11 warrants in a case that they could have and should have taken a single warrant,” Stephens said. “London and three other young men are alleged to have caused damage to 11 doors in a residence hall while participating in a viral TikTok ‘door kick’ challenge, as many other young people have done around the country.”

While the legal process plays out, the situation casts a shadow over a young player just beginning his college football journey. London Seymour joined the Bulldogs as a walk-on in 2025 and saw action in the team’s season opener. His father, Richard Seymour, is one of Georgia’s most celebrated football alumni - a dominant defensive lineman from 1997 to 2000 who went on to become a first-round NFL draft pick and three-time Super Bowl champion with the New England Patriots.

For now, the focus shifts from the football field to the courtroom, as Seymour and his legal team work to address the charges. The university and Georgia football program have not publicly commented on the matter.

It’s a cautionary tale for young athletes navigating the pressures of campus life, social media trends, and the spotlight that comes with a high-profile football program - especially when your last name carries weight in college and pro football circles.
