Texas A&M Stuns With March Madness Seeding Announcement

Texas A&M enters March Madness with a high-powered offense under new coach Bucky McMillan, set to face Saint Mary's in a thrilling first-round matchup.

Texas A&M basketball fans, get ready for the excitement of March Madness! After a solid 21-11 season, with an 11-7 record in SEC play, the Aggies have earned their spot in the 2026 NCAA Tournament.

On Selection Sunday, Texas A&M was announced as the No. 10 seed in the South Region, setting up a first-round clash with No. 7 seed Saint Mary's. This matchup will take place in Oklahoma City, marking the sixth meeting between these two programs.

The last time they faced off was back in 2010, when the Aggies secured a decisive 70-53 victory.

This year, under the leadership of Bucky McMillan in his debut season, the Aggies are ready to make some noise. They'll be taking on the Gaels on Thursday, March 19, in OKC. Although their journey in the SEC Tournament was brief, McMillan's "Bucky Ball" style-characterized by fast-paced play and high-volume shooting-made a notable impact against top-tier competition all season long.

The Aggies enter the tournament with the No. 11 scoring offense in the nation, averaging a remarkable 87.7 points per game. They're also deadly from beyond the arc, ranking 15th with 10.8 made three-pointers per contest.

However, their Achilles' heel has been establishing a strong presence inside the paint. Graduate forward Rashaun Agee has been a standout, setting a program record with 13 double-doubles this season, but the team can't rely solely on his efforts to dominate inside.

Should Texas A&M advance past Saint Mary's, they'll face off against the winner of the matchup between No. 2 seed Houston and No. 15 seed Idaho. The stage is set for an exciting tournament run, and the Aggies are ready to show what they're made of.
