Texas A&M Stuns Georgia With Another Big SEC Road Victory

Texas A&M continues to defy preseason expectations with a dominant road win over Georgia that cements their unexpected rise to the top of the SEC.

Texas A&M Keeps Rolling in SEC With Statement Win Over Georgia

If you’ve been waiting for Texas A&M to come back down to earth, you’re going to have to keep waiting. The Aggies just keep stacking wins, and Saturday’s 92-77 road victory over Georgia was another loud message: this team is for real.

Texas A&M came out like they were shot out of a cannon, blitzing Georgia with a 22-2 run in the first five minutes. The Aggies were lights out from deep early, hitting 5-of-7 from three-point range to set the tone.

It looked like a blowout in the making, but credit to Georgia-they punched back. The Bulldogs clawed their way back into it, trimming the deficit to just three with just over two minutes left in the first half.

But every time Georgia got close, A&M responded. The Aggies pushed the lead back to 10 by halftime, and while Georgia made another run midway through the second half-cutting it to two with nine minutes left-A&M never flinched.

They answered again, stretched the lead back to double digits with six minutes to go, and never looked back.

The Aggies never trailed in this one. That’s not just a stat-it’s a statement. This team knows how to take a punch and still control a game wire to wire.

And once again, the engine behind it all was Rashaun Agee. The big man was everywhere-18 points, 15 rebounds (10 of them on the offensive glass), and 7 assists.

That’s not just a box score stuffer; that’s someone completely dictating the game on both ends. Agee’s physicality inside continues to be a game-changer for a team that doesn’t have a ton of size but plays with a ton of fight.

He didn’t do it alone, either. The Aggies had four other players in double figures-Marcus Hill and Ali Dibba each dropped 15, Ruben Dominguez added 13, and Pop Isaacs chipped in 11.

That kind of balance is exactly what makes this team dangerous. They don’t rely on one guy to carry them every night.

They’ve got options, and they’re all stepping up.

With the win, Texas A&M improves to 17-4 overall and a stunning 7-1 in SEC play. That puts them alone at the top of the conference standings heading into February.

Let that sink in for a second. This was a team picked to finish 13th in the SEC in the preseason media poll.

Now? They’re leading the league and starting to look like a legitimate March threat.

Of course, the road ahead is anything but easy. The Aggies are staring down one of the toughest remaining schedules in the country.

It starts immediately, with a trip to No. 23 Alabama on Feb. 4, followed by a home showdown with No.

19 Florida on Feb. 7.

But this Georgia win was their third “Quad 1” victory of the season, and that’s gold when it comes to NCAA Tournament resumes. ESPN’s Joe Lunardi had them slotted as an 8-seed before this win-and they’re not going down from there.

Texas A&M is turning heads, and they’re doing it with grit, depth, and a little bit of swagger. The Cinderella tag might still fit, but if they keep this up, they’re going to be dancing in March-and they might be doing more than just showing up to the ball.
