Texas A&M’s offensive line is heading into a transitional year, and now it’s official-one of its most seasoned veterans is moving on. Senior tackle Reuben Fatheree II announced Thursday that he’s declaring for the 2026 NFL Draft, bringing his five-year run in College Station to a close.
Fatheree’s departure isn’t a surprise-he’s out of eligibility-but it’s still a significant moment for a Texas A&M program that’s already facing major turnover up front. The Aggies are losing not just a player, but a presence in the locker room who’s been part of the offensive line fabric since the moment he stepped on campus.
From the jump, Fatheree made an impression. He earned freshman All-American honors in his first season, showcasing a blend of size and athleticism that immediately stood out. By his sophomore year, he was locked in as a full-time starter, anchoring the edge with consistency and poise beyond his years.
Then came the setback. An injury during his junior season stalled that early momentum, and though he returned to the field, his role shifted.
Over the final stretch of his career, Fatheree became more of a depth piece-contributing as a reserve tackle and on special teams-but his impact remained. He was a steadying force in the room, a veteran voice, and someone younger linemen could lean on.
Physically, Fatheree checks a lot of boxes. At 6-foot-8, he brings rare length and natural movement skills that NFL teams covet.
He’s got the kind of frame that can hold up at the next level, paired with solid football IQ and a willingness to develop. While he’s not viewed as a polished product just yet, the traits are there.
Scouts see him as a developmental tackle-someone who could hear his name late on Day 3 or land as a priority undrafted free agent with upside.
The NFL Draft is set for April 23-25 in Pittsburgh, and Fatheree will be one of several Aggies hoping to make the leap. For now, he exits Aggieland with gratitude, having left his mark on the program-and with the tools to keep chasing his football dream at the next level.
