Rashaun Agee made a statement on Saturday, and the SEC took notice.
After powering Texas A&M to a road win over Georgia, Agee was named the SEC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week - and it’s not hard to see why. The senior forward put together a performance that checked every box: 18 points, 15 rebounds, and a career-high seven assists. He was efficient, too, hitting 50% from the field (5-for-10) and a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line.
This wasn’t just another solid outing - it was the kind of all-around game that anchors a team and turns heads across the conference. Agee’s 15 boards marked his highest rebounding total in an SEC game, and the seven dimes?
A career-best. It was also his 10th double-double of the season and the 30th of his college career - a testament to just how consistently impactful he’s been.
In SEC play, Agee has been nothing short of a force. He’s averaging 15.6 points and 10.3 rebounds per game, numbers that put him in elite company.
On the season, his 9.0 rebounds per game rank second in the conference. And when it comes to defensive rebounding - those gritty, momentum-swinging boards that don’t always show up in highlight reels - he’s pulling down 6.3 per game, second-best in the SEC and among the top 25 nationally.
Agee isn’t just stuffing the stat sheet - he’s doing it in ways that directly translate to wins. His ability to control the glass, find teammates, and finish efficiently gives Texas A&M a reliable presence in the frontcourt, especially in tough road environments like Athens.
Next up, Agee and the Aggies head to Tuscaloosa for a Wednesday night showdown with Alabama. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. on SEC Network. If Agee keeps playing like this, don’t be surprised if the Aggies continue climbing - and if more weekly honors come his way.
