Texas A&M Sees LeVeon Moss Back at Practice Before Playoff Clash

Texas A&M could get a major boost in its Playoff showdown with Miami as a key offensive weapon returns to action.

Le’Veon Moss might be back just in time to give Texas A&M a major boost as the Aggies prepare for the biggest game in program history - their first-ever College Football Playoff appearance.

Moss, who hasn’t seen the field since suffering a leg injury against Florida back on October 11, was spotted at practice Tuesday in College Station. That’s a significant development with the Aggies just days away from hosting Miami at Kyle Field in the opening round of the CFP.

Kickoff is set for noon on Saturday, and the stakes couldn’t be higher - the winner earns a trip to the Cotton Bowl semifinal to face No. 2 Ohio State on December 31.

And if Moss is healthy enough to go, it could change the complexion of this matchup.

Texas A&M offensive coordinator Collin Klein, who will take over as Kansas State’s head coach after the season, didn’t hold back in describing what Moss brings to the table. “He’s a sledgehammer,” Klein said.

“It’s probably a little unfair, just because our running back room - we’ve been able to run the ball through the course of the season, even since he got hurt - at a really, really high clip. So, obviously, really excited about him.”

That excitement makes sense. Before the injury, Moss was emerging as a true workhorse for the Aggies.

In just six games this season, he racked up 70 carries for 389 yards and six touchdowns. He was averaging over five and a half yards per carry and showing the kind of physical, downhill running style that wears down defenses - especially late in games.

Even with Moss sidelined, the Aggies’ ground game hasn’t missed a beat, thanks largely to Rueben Owens Jr., who’s stepped up in a big way. Owens has carried the load with 112 rushing attempts for 618 yards and five touchdowns, proving he can handle the lead role. But adding Moss back into the mix gives Texas A&M a dangerous one-two punch - a blend of power and speed that could be tough for Miami to contain.

Klein emphasized that Moss’s return isn’t just about numbers - it’s about presence. “Happy for him to be able to finish this season and be able to get back out there on the field and want him to finish strong,” he said. “And obviously, he’s a difference-maker with the ball in his hands.”

With the Playoff spotlight shining and a trip to the Cotton Bowl on the line, Texas A&M is hoping its top back is ready to roll. If Moss is cleared and close to full strength, he could be the X-factor that tips the scales in the Aggies’ favor.
