Texas A&M's 2027 recruiting class is shaping up to be something special, with standout prospects like five-star offensive linemen Kennedy Brown and Mark Mathews already on board. The Aggies' O-line coach, Adam Cushing, is making waves with his recruiting prowess, now setting sights on another promising talent: four-star Colorado-based OL Jackson Roper.
Roper is set to visit College Station on June 5, joining a lineup of high-priority prospects. This visit could be pivotal, offering him a firsthand look at the facilities and potentially sealing his commitment to the Aggies. Texas A&M has a strong track record, with 13 invitees to the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine, including senior OL Trey Zuhn, a Colorado native who made his mark starting three seasons at left tackle.
The Aggies' head coach, Mike Elko, knows a thing or two about recruiting top talent. Back when he was Texas A&M's defensive coordinator, he played a key role in landing Zuhn during the 2021 cycle. Elko's not shy about venturing into Colorado, competing with powerhouse programs to bring in elite players.
Jackson Roper is the kind of versatile lineman that Texas A&M loves. In a chat with On3's Steve Wiltfong, who predicts Roper will choose the Aggies, Roper shared how strong his connection is with Adam Cushing and Mike Elko.
"The relationship with everyone at A&M has been fantastic from the beginning," Roper remarked. "They’ve taken time to really get to know me and my family, focusing on what matters to us."
Currently anchoring the left tackle spot at Cherry Creek High School, Roper stands at an impressive 6'4" and 290 pounds. His skill set might see him transition to left or right guard at the college level, where his top-tier run-blocking abilities can truly shine.
According to On3, Roper is ranked as the 14th-best interior offensive lineman nationally and the top prospect in Colorado. The Aggies are clearly building something formidable, and Roper could be a key piece in their future success.
