Texas A&M Lands Key 2027 Commit in Late-Night Recruiting Win

Texas A&M lands a key piece for its 2027 offensive line with the commitment of a highly touted in-state prospect.

Texas A&M continues to make waves on the recruiting trail, and late Sunday night - or early Monday morning, depending on how you mark your calendar - the Aggies secured another big-time commitment for their 2027 class. Four-star offensive tackle Kaeden Scott out of San Antonio Roosevelt gave his verbal pledge, adding more muscle to what’s quickly becoming one of the most impressive early hauls in the country.

Scott is a towering presence at 6-foot-7, and he’s not just big - he’s ranked. According to the 247Sports Composite, he sits at No. 184 nationally, is the 20th-ranked offensive tackle in the class, and checks in as the No. 26 overall player in the state of Texas. That’s no small feat in a state that churns out elite talent year after year.

This wasn’t a quiet recruitment, either. Scott had offers on the table from some of college football’s biggest names - Texas, Texas Tech, Ohio State, Tennessee, Ole Miss, and more. But in the end, it was the Aggies who won out, continuing their momentum under a staff that’s clearly making the trenches a priority.

Scott becomes the 10th commitment in Texas A&M’s 2027 class and the second offensive tackle to jump on board, joining fellow four-star DeMarrion Johnson. That kind of early focus on the offensive line speaks volumes about the staff’s long-term vision - build from the inside out, protect the quarterback, and control the line of scrimmage.

And while it’s still early - very early - in the 2027 cycle, the Aggies are already sitting at No. 2 in the national rankings, trailing only Oklahoma. That’s the kind of start that turns heads and sets the tone for what could be a defining class for the program.

There’s a long way to go before these names hit the field in College Station, but if this early run is any indication, Texas A&M is laying the foundation for something special.
