Texas A&M's recruiting efforts for the 2027 class are shaping up to be something special, especially along the offensive line. With second-year O-line coach Adam Cushing at the helm, the Aggies are making waves. Cushing already showcased his recruiting prowess by landing six offensive line commits in the 2025 signing class and bringing in four SEC starters via the transfer portal this offseason.
For the 2026 class, head coach Mike Elko and Cushing added three more offensive linemen to their roster, including standout four-star guard Samuel Roseborough, who picked the Aggies over the Texas Longhorns. As the 2026 season approaches, the battle for the starting guard positions is heating up, with transfers Tyree Adams and Wilkin Formby poised to anchor the left and right tackle spots.
Looking ahead to 2027, Elko and Cushing are closing in on a commitment from five-star offensive lineman Ismael Camara. Camara was recently seen at the Hero 7-7 competition in Dallas, Texas, where he caught up with AggieYell insider Jaxson Callaway. Despite playing only 12 games at Gilmer High School, Camara has already attracted over 40 offers and is regarded as a top-tier interior offensive lineman.
Currently, Texas and Oregon are the main competitors for Camara's talents. However, the family-like atmosphere at College Station seems to be a significant draw for him.
Camara expressed his admiration, saying, “Man, that’s just all family. I can’t say enough about them… it just feels like home every time I go down there.”
Camara also praised the Aggie fan base and highlighted Adam Cushing's unique approach to player development as a key factor in his decision-making process. With the challenge of replacing five veteran offensive linemen lost to the 2026 NFL Draft, Cushing's ability to develop new talent will be crucial. If the new O-line can hold strong, it will only bolster his recruiting success and the potential signing of Camara.
Ismael Camara is set to make an official visit to Texas A&M on May 28. According to Rivals, he is currently ranked as the 32nd overall prospect and the 3rd-ranked interior offensive lineman.
