The Bulldogs backed that up with a 45-17 win over Arkansas, and the Razorbacks remain stuck at the bottom of the list for a third straight week. Georgia has done this against lighter competition through three games, but the results have still been loud enough to keep them on top.
Texas holds down the No. 2 spot after taking care of UTSA to move to 3-0. It wasn’t the Longhorns’ sharpest outing of the season, but it was enough to keep the record clean before a trip to Knoxville to face unbeaten No. 14 Tennessee.
Ole Miss sits third after handling No. 7 LSU, 32-24, in Oxford.
That win gave the Rebels their chance to answer back, and Trinidad Chambliss has now put himself in the conversation as the top quarterback in college football. Mississippi State has its own quarterback case building too, with Kamario Taylor leading the Bulldogs into Williams-Brice Stadium and out with a win over South Carolina.
That result pushed the Gamecocks down the board, and Texas A&M also slid after getting upset at home by Kentucky, 31-21, at Kyle Field. The Aggies’ loss opened the door for the Wildcats to climb after a statement road win.
