The Texas A&M Aggies, under the guidance of head coach Mike Elko, kicked off their spring football practice with nearly the entire 2026 roster taking the field. The only exception was one incoming freshman. Over the next month, Elko and his team are set to welcome a slew of top-tier prospects from the 2027 recruiting class, including several coveted five-star recruits.
The Aggies have already made significant strides in the 2027 recruiting cycle, securing ten commitments. Among these are standout five-star defensive backs Kamarui Dorsey and Raylaun Henry, who are expected to visit College Station officially this summer.
The offensive line, a key focus area, saw a boost in 2025 with six new signings. Offensive Line Coach Adam Cushing continues to build on that momentum, having locked in commitments from four-star tackles DeMarrion Johnson and Kaeden Scott.
Aiming to bring in three to four offensive line recruits this cycle, Texas A&M is in the running for four-star tackle Brian Swanson from South Oak Cliff. Swanson's versatility is a major asset, with the ability to play tackle, guard, or center. The competition for his commitment is fierce, with Texas, LSU, Ohio State, SMU, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Arizona State also in the mix.
While Elko and Cushing haven't yet secured an official visit date with Swanson, it's anticipated that arrangements will be made soon. The Dallas native might make an unofficial visit to College Station this spring, providing a chance for the Aggies to make their case.
According to 247Sports, Swanson is currently ranked as the 17th offensive tackle and the 16th overall prospect in Texas. This places him high on the radar for many top programs, making his recruitment one to watch closely.
