Texas A&M’s slide hit hard enough to knock the Aggies completely out of the AP Poll.
After a 35-6 loss to LSU in Baton Rouge on Saturday night, Mike Elko’s team fell out of the Top 25 following another rough outing against a conference opponent. The numbers from Tiger Stadium tell the story: Texas A&M managed just 197 yards of offense while LSU rolled up 506.
The defeat left little room for optimism and cast a shadow over the Aggies’ push for a College Football Playoff spot. Death Valley has a reputation for swallowing big hopes, and Texas A&M’s night there fit that script.
LSU’s win came in a Week 4 AP Poll that featured a major shakeup near the top. Florida was the week’s biggest mover, jumping to No. 8 after its win over Ole Miss in the Swamp.
Kentucky also broke into the Top 25 for the first time since 2023, landing at No. 24 ahead of Missouri at No. 25.
The new top 25 opens with Texas at No. 1, followed by Georgia, Notre Dame, Miami and Ohio State. Alabama sits at No. 7, while LSU checks in at No. 11 after the victory over Texas A&M.
