Texas A&M's wide receiver lineup for 2026 just got a significant boost with the addition of Isaiah Horton, a former Alabama standout who spent three seasons at Miami. Horton's decision to join the Aggies was influenced by his strong connection with redshirt junior quarterback Marcel Reed and the team's impressive run to the College Football Playoffs last season.
While Texas A&M wasn't in dire need of another wide receiver this offseason, the departure of KC Concepcion, the team’s leading receiver, highlighted a need for more size, especially after their season-ending losses to Texas and in the CFP first round to Miami.
Enter Isaiah Horton. With new offensive coordinator Holmon Wiggins at the helm-recently promoted after Collin Klein left for Kansas State-the Aggies are looking to elevate their passing game. Wiggins, who played a crucial role in bringing in both Concepcion and star wideout Mario Craver from the transfer portal, was instrumental in securing Horton as well.
Horton's presence is set to address the size issue along the boundary and provide a formidable red-zone target. His performance during Alabama's 27-20 victory over Auburn, where he snagged three touchdowns, showcased his potential as a game-changer. Standing tall at 6'4" and weighing over 200 pounds, Horton is expected to be a dynamic addition alongside Mario Craver, Ashton Bethel-Roman, and the versatile Terry Bussey.
"Adding a bigger-bodied receiver with experience who can win those 50/50 balls and run precise routes is a huge advantage for us," said a team insider. "His leadership and the way he conducts himself will resonate throughout the room and the offense."
This offseason, Horton has been working closely with strength and conditioning coach Tommy Moffitt to optimize his playing weight to around 190-200 pounds, ensuring he maintains top speed and agility. With Horton on board, Texas A&M's passing game is poised for an exciting evolution in 2026.
