The Texas A&M Aggies are making waves with what might just be the top recruiting class in the nation. However, even the best sometimes miss a beat.
Case in point: the Aggies recently lost out on five-star interior offensive lineman Albert Simien, who opted to join the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. This decision was confirmed by On3's Hayes Fawcett, marking a significant win for Notre Dame in the recruiting arena.

Ranked as the No. 20 overall player and the No. 2 interior offensive lineman by Rivals, Simien stands at 6-foot-3 and weighs in at 295 pounds. He's also the No. 3 player from Louisiana, making him a highly coveted recruit.
Despite the setback with Simien, Texas A&M still boasts the best recruiting class in the country. Notre Dame trails in second place, but the Aggies have secured commitments from six five-star prospects, including standout offensive tackle Mark Matthews and interior offensive lineman Kennedy Brown, ranked No. 5 and No. 25 nationally, respectively.
The Aggies' offensive line depth is impressive, with four-star offensive tackles Kaeden Scott and DeMarrion Johnson adding to their formidable lineup. Their 23 commits have an average rating of 91.27, the fifth-best in the country and the highest among schools with 22 or more commitments. Texas A&M is clearly building a powerhouse, even if they had to let one big fish get away.
