SEC Network host Peter Burns is looking at Saturday’s LSU-Texas A&M matchup and siding with the Aggies.
Burns, who regularly makes predictions for some of the SEC’s biggest games, pointed to the Tigers’ and Aggies’ Week 3 losses as part of the backdrop for this one. LSU fell to Ole Miss in a game that stayed tight until the final minutes, while Kentucky went into College Station and controlled Texas A&M for most of the day in a result that stood out across the conference.
Even with that loss in the rearview, Burns still sees Texas A&M leaving Baton Rouge with a win.
“I have nightmares about them running fast enough at some point,” Burns said. “The third nightmare I have is what Marcell Reed does to LSU and Blake Baker’s defense right now.
I think A&M wins that game. I think it ends up being 23-20, and there are going to be boo birds out for LSU if that offense doesn’t get rolling.
I think they’re going to (tell) Marcell Reed, stop thinking, and just go out there and play ball.”
Reed has already given LSU problems before. In two career games against the Tigers, he has run for 170 yards and five touchdowns, with his legs tilting both matchups. Last season’s meeting in Baton Rouge was his signature night, when he threw for more than 200 yards, ran for more than 100 and accounted for five touchdowns in Texas A&M’s 49-25 win.
