Texas A&M’s Week 2 home game against Arizona State is doing double duty for Mike Elko’s program. On the field, it’s a test. Off it, it’s another major recruiting stage, with the Aggies set to welcome a massive group of prospects across the 2027, 2028 and 2029 classes.
The weekend visit list is already heavy, and it could grow even more. Texas A&M hosted 150 prospects in those three cycles, and the staff is now in position to keep pushing with a loaded slate of blue-chip talent in College Station.
One of the biggest names to watch is 2027 four-star athlete Za'Kari Johnson, who is committed to Florida State. The Aggies are now considered the favorites to flip him.
Texas A&M is also working to strengthen its hold on its top 2027 class, especially after five of the program’s six five-star commits were on campus last weekend. That group included five-star offensive tackle Mark Matthews.
This weekend, according to Rivals insider Sam Spiegelman, Elko and general manager Derek Miller will host four more blue-chip 2027 commits. The headliners are five-star edge Zyron Forstall, five-star wide receiver Eric McFarland III, five-star linebacker Kaden Henderson, and rising four-star edge Kaden McCarty.
The 2028 group brings another deep set of targets, with Rivals insider Steve Wiltfong reporting a list that could keep expanding before the weekend arrives. The top names on that list are three Top100 prospects: four-star wide receiver Tromon Issac, four-star offensive tackle Jamario Canton and four-star linebacker Andre Alexander.
Canton’s trip stands out because it will be his second visit in June, and by all accounts, the first one went very well.
Texas A&M will also have the No. 2-ranked quarterback in the 2029 cycle on campus. Four-star Linc Frazier of Willis, Texas, sits at the top of the Aggies’ 2029 visitor list for the weekend.
