Texas A&M added another key piece to its 2027 class on Friday, and the momentum around the Aggies may not be slowing down anytime soon.
Rising three-star wide receiver Damani Warren became the program’s 24th commitment in the cycle, choosing Texas A&M over Michigan, Oregon and several other blue-blood programs. The win underscored the connection Warren built with offensive coordinator Holmon Wiggins and new wide receivers coach John Perry.
That commitment came with the Aggies already circling another major target. Five-star receiver Eric McFarland is scheduled to announce his decision Sunday afternoon, and Texas A&M has been viewed as the favorite for a while.
McFarland fits the room in a very specific way. He’s described as an established slot receiver with elite speed and a knack for creating separation on deep balls, much like current junior standout Mario Craver. In this class, he would slot in alongside Warren, who projects as an X receiver, and four-star Jayden Upshaw, who is expected to play the Z role for the Aggies.
On Saturday, On3 recruiting expert Steve Wiltfong said he believes Texas A&M will end up landing McFarland. He pointed to his latest information, the fit at the position and what the program has built in College Station under Mike Elko.
"After continuing to talk to sources with knowledge of the recruitment, I still very much like my Rivals Prediction Machine forecast in favor of Texas A&M logged back in March. McFarland has spent a lot of time in College Station throughout his process, loves the vibe around town, the culture and trajectory of the football team and his ability to make plays in the offense."
Wiggins’ reputation as one of the top wide receiver coaches in the country continues to show up in recruiting, and if Texas A&M does land McFarland, the next name to watch is five-star cornerback Joshua Dobson, who is set to announce his commitment on July 1.

Marcel Reed Gives Texas A&M Fans Another Reason To Believe In 2026
The offseason can feel long in College Station, but Marcel Reed gave Texas A&M fans a fresh reason to lean forward on Friday night at the 2026 Manning Passing Academy. The annual Friday Nite Lites competition, which mixes current college and pro quarterbacks in a series of showcase events, included the Air-It-Out exhibition, where Reeds throw quickly drew attention and spread across social media.
For a program waiting on meaningful football news, even a camp setting can matter when the quarterback looks the part. Reeds showing served as another reminder of the arm talent that has Aggies supporters optimistic about what 2026 could hold, and it added a little buzz to a summer stretch that is usually short on headlines. Texas A&M Recruiting Momentum Faces Its Next Big Test
Texas A&M has already landed a headline grab in five-star receiver Eric McFarland, and the next stretch of recruiting will say a lot about whether that momentum can keep rolling. The Aggies are still in the mix for several high-profile prospects, with running back Landen Williams-Callis, offensive tackle Ismael Camara and cornerback Joshua Dobson all sitting near the center of the conversation as the staff works to turn one big win into a broader run.
There have been a few recent swings away from College Station, including targets who once looked close before ending up elsewhere, so the pressure is on to protect this class from turning into a series of near-misses. Williams-Callis remains a live name in the backfield picture, Camara is drawing attention from other major programs, and Dobson has emerged as the one to watch as Texas A&M tries to keep its recruiting surge from stalling at the very moment it looks most promising.
