Nebraska’s recruiting board is getting a little busier on both sides of the ball.
The Huskers appear to be in decent shape with some key targets, but there’s at least one name worth watching closely: four-star Nebraska commit Jordan Agbanoma. Texas A&M, fresh off missing on five-star offensive tackle Albert Simien, is looking for another big-body offensive lineman and Agbanoma has surfaced as a target. That’s not nothing, especially with the Aggies’ NIL firepower and the money they likely still have to spend after missing on Simien.
Agbanoma is a strong prospect in his own right. The 6-foot-2.5, 300-pound interior offensive lineman is ranked No. 80 overall in the 2027 class by the 247 Sports composite, fourth among interior offensive linemen and seventh in Georgia. For now, there are no signs Nebraska is in real danger, but this is one to keep on the radar.
Elsewhere, the Huskers still look like the favorite for Khalil Taylor, while Florida three-star cornerback Kamauri Whitfield remains a true toss-up at 50/50.
Nebraska is also trying to keep pushing on an area that needs more attention: EDGE recruiting. Matt Rhule’s staff hasn’t done enough there yet, and the Huskers made another move Sunday by offering Texas A&M commit Chance Archangel.
The 6-foot-3, 240-pound Louisiana edge rusher is ranked No. 255 overall in the 247 Sports composite and has already picked up offers from Alabama, LSU, Arkansas, Florida State, Miami, Tennessee, Texas, USC, Notre Dame, and SMU. Archangel committed to Texas A&M on June 2.
And then there’s Trae Taylor, who keeps piling up the hardware.
The Nebraska quarterback commit, who recently picked up a fifth star from 247 Sports, was named Elite 11 MVP last week. 247 Sports has him as the No. 1 quarterback in the 2027 class, while ESPN has him at No.
- Taylor also caught attention online for a lively interview at The Opening, where he leaned into the moment after a reporter questioned his athleticism.
He fired back that he ran for over 700 yards and 12 touchdowns last season, in addition to everything he does as a passer.
Trae Taylor is the real deal. This is another reminder of that.
