Korda had just secured his spot in the ATP final, his first since January 2025, by defeating Flavio Cobolli in straight sets, 7-6 (1), 6-1. During the customary on-court interview, emcee Michelle Yu inadvertently created a memorable moment with a slip of the tongue.
“You’ve played Flavio three times and you’ve had sex-success all three times. Why is it…,” Yu said, trying to stifle her laughter. Korda, quick on his feet, joined in the fun with a playful response, “He’s a good looking guy, so you know…”
Beyond the humor, Korda's performance on the court has been impressive. After a challenging start to the season, he has found his stride.
Speaking with TENNIS.com, Korda reflected on overcoming injuries and regaining his competitive edge. “I think especially with how many times I've been injured, you kind of lose that competitiveness when you're not really inside of a tournament.
I think that's something that I'm lacking sometimes,” he shared.
Since then, Korda has been on a roll, notching six tour-level victories and defeating top-ranked players, including Casper Ruud. His journey to the final in Delray Beach is a testament to his resilience and skill.
The former world No. 15 is aiming for his first title since his 2024 triumph in Washington. As he prepares for the final, Korda awaits the winner of the match between fourth seed Learner Tien and fifth seed Tommy Paul.
